  Can't say enough about the people I dealt with at Peaceful Pets and the memorials they created for my beloved Golden Retriever, Brody, when he passed away last November after 12 great years. The staff was incredibly compassionate and kind and the whole ambience of the facility was as pleasant and comforting as any human funeral home. The customized urn they crafted for Brody turned out beautifully and there were also some other mementos like a paw print plaster casting and some his hair clippings as well. You can tell these people are pet lovers and that they realize what it means to some of us to lose our four-legged friends. The folks at Peaceful Pets made one of the worst weekends of my life at least a little easier to handle.

  My dog of almost 13 years died at home on a Sunday afternoon and I had no idea what to do next. The ground was frozen so we couldn't bury her and this was the first time I've had a dog die at home and not at the vet. I called Peaceful Pets and coordinated a time for me to bring her in. They were wonderful both on the phone and in person. When we brought her in, they were very caring in how they treated us and our dearly departed. They gave us a few options with prices and allowed to me to have what I wanted, without having to pay for things I didn't want. Her ashes were available to be picked up the following day, and were put in a very nice box.
  
  Overall, it was a very good experience working with them while dealing with a sad event. I will absolutely use them in the future should I need to.

  My husband and I, with tears in our eyes and our dying cat in our arms, chose the private cremation when our vet offered it. We have done this before at a different vet's office, and for $100 it was well worth it. Imagine our surprise when we picked up the cremains and the bill for $260 a day later! ($35 of this was for transport, but again - we did not know we had a choice) The competitors, had we checked, still charge around $125. While the box is pretty (a lovely high quality cardboard), the paw print and tuft of fur were nice touches, and the card was thoughtful, we will not use Peaceful Pets again. They have four levels of service, and this was the cheapest. ($225 plus transport, if needed) Now we are hurting both for our precious kitty and our feeling of being taken advantage of in our grief. Again, I realize it is our fault for not doing our due diligence, but wow. $125 vs $260. If they offered a bare bones option where we received just the bag of ashes, for a competitive price, we would certainly reconsider our review.
